Lil Gator Game is a movement-focused open-world adventure developed by MegaWobble and published by Playtonic Friends. It released on December 14, 2022, on PC through Steam and on Nintendo Switch. You play as a small gator exploring an island where there is a buddy on top of almost every hill, and most of them need a hand with something.
The loop is simple and relaxed. You climb sheer rocks, glide off mountain tops, swim and slide around the island, bop cardboard baddies with a stick sword and take on quests from groups of kids such as the Theatre Troupe, the Prep schoolers and the Cool Kids in the Creaklands. Every new friend you make joins the island playground. Arts and crafts supplies scattered around the map let you craft items and new abilities, such as a ragdoll teddy that sends the gator tumbling down slopes or pebbles you can skim at hard-to-reach targets. There is no health bar, so the game never punishes you for experimenting.
It fits players who want a short, low-stress game with a lot of charm, and it works well for younger players too. A Lil Gator Game CD key is often cheaper than the store price; our comparison of CD keys vs official stores explains why.
