What is Might & Magic Heroes VII?

Might & Magic Heroes VII is the seventh main entry in the long-running Heroes of Might and Magic strategy series. Developed by German studio Limbic Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, it released on PC on September 29, 2015. The story is set in Ashan during a war of succession: the Empress has been murdered, rivals are fighting for the throne, and Duke Ivan gathers a council of six advisors to restore order. Each advisor's tale plays out as its own campaign.

The game keeps the classic Heroes structure. On the adventure map you move heroes, claim mines and resources, and explore for artifacts. In your towns you construct buildings and recruit creatures, then take armies into turn-based tactical battles on a grid. Heroes level up and pick from skill wheels with hundreds of abilities, so two heroes from the same faction can play very differently. Skirmish maps and multiplayer extend play beyond the campaigns.
