Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a fantasy role-playing game developed by LEVEL-5 and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It released on March 23, 2018 for PC and PlayStation 4, earning a Metacritic score of 81 on PC. The Prince's Edition, which bundles the season pass content, later arrived on Nintendo Switch in 2023.
After a coup drives him from his throne, the young king Evan sets out to found a new kingdom and unite the world against the dark forces threatening it. The story is standalone, so newcomers can start here. Battles play out in real time, with Evan and his party fighting alongside Higgledies, small elemental helpers you collect and deploy. Between story chapters you grow your own kingdom, recruit citizens and research upgrades, and in Skirmish battles you lead troops across the world map. Character designs come from former Studio Ghibli animator Yoshiyuki Momose, and Joe Hisaishi composed the score.
