Northgard – Brundr & Kaelinn, Clan of the Lynx is an official DLC expansion for the acclaimed Norse-mythology real-time strategy game Northgard, developed and published by Shiro Games. Released on September 15, 2020, this expansion introduces an entirely new playable clan built around the art of the hunt, animal bonds, and nature-powered warfare.
The DLC is named after the clan's two legendary lynx companions — Brundr, the fierce and agile younger brother, and Kaelinn, the experienced elder protector. These mighty wildcats were raised from cubs by the clan, and now serve as the eyes and the claws of their blind leader, Mielikki the Beastmaster. Together, they form one of the most unique and strategically demanding clans in all of Northgard.
Unlike conventional clans that rely on iron-forged warriors and brute military strength, the Clan of the Lynx turns the wilderness itself into a weapon. Hunters replace standard soldiers. Animal kills generate Hunting Trophies, a unique currency used to unlock devastating abilities. The traditional Axe Thrower Camp is replaced by the Archery Range, where skilled Trackers are trained to fire multiple arrow types suited for any combat situation. Military advancement is replaced by the Path of the Hunter, a new progression system exclusive to this clan.
Mielikki herself is a nuanced leader — weaker in direct combat than other warchiefs, but she does not require Iron to recruit, making her accessible from the early game. Her true power lies in the clan's ability to summon Brundr and Kaelinn to aid in battles and, later, to call upon the spirits of mythical beasts through the legendary Oskoreia ability.
