Outcast: A New Beginning is a third-person open-world action adventure developed by Appeal Studios and published by THQ Nordic on March 15, 2024. It is the sequel to Outcast, the 1999 game that helped pioneer non-linear open worlds, and it reunites members of the original team. Ex-Navy SEAL Cutter Slade is resurrected by the Yods and returns to the alien planet Adelpha, only to find the native Talans enslaved and their world stripped of resources by invading robot forces.
Traversal centers on a jetpack that lets you jump, air-dash and glide across the map. Combat uses a modular weapon system: you combine dozens of modules to build personal weapons for taking down robots. You free Talan villages, learn about their culture and gain ancient Talan powers that use forces of nature against enemies. The non-linear structure lets you approach the story at your own pace while you discover hidden temples and dangerous wildlife. Original Outcast composer Lennie Moore returns for the soundtrack.
