Primitive Society Simulator is a colony-building game with grand strategy elements, developed by YSH BigDove and published by YSH Games with The Bueno Interactive. It entered Steam Early Access on February 26, 2024, so content and balance are still changing. You play as the leader of a branch of the ancient Chinese, guiding your people from the Stone Age into the Bronze Age.
Early hours focus on survival: crafting tools, building houses, hunting, farming and raising livestock. As your tribe grows, you compete with five other groups across Asia, including the Rongdi, Baiyue, Aryans and Assyrians, on a map that stretches from the Yellow River basin to Mesopotamia. You can expand through war, cultural influence, trade or migration, and force rival tribes to pay tribute or become vassals. Leaders manage groups and their schedules to cut down on micromanagement, and they can rise to noble ranks that unlock unique units and facilities. In combat, a unit-wide organization value decides when troops rout, so training and morale matter as much as numbers.
It suits players who like colony sims but want bigger strategic stakes, much like Manor Lords mixes city building with warfare. A Primitive Society Simulator CD key gives you access to the Early Access build and future updates on Steam. Follow development on the official Steam store page.
