Resident Evil 4 is a survival horror action game developed and published by Capcom, released on March 23, 2023. It remakes the 2005 original with modernized gameplay, a reimagined storyline and fully rebuilt graphics. Six years after the Raccoon City outbreak, agent Leon S. Kennedy tracks the U.S. president's kidnapped daughter, Ashley, to a remote European village where the locals are hostile and something is very wrong.
Play is over-the-shoulder third-person. You manage scarce ammo, upgrade weapons through the merchant, parry attacks with Leon's knife and protect Ashley through villages, a castle and an island. The remake earned a Metacritic score of 91 on PC. Capcom later added The Mercenaries arcade mode, and the paid Separate Ways expansion tells a parallel story from Ada Wong's perspective. A Resident Evil 4 CD key on PC activates through Steam, and the game also supports HDR and ray tracing on capable hardware.
