SaGa Frontier 2 Remastered is a turn-based RPG published by Square Enix and developed with Bullets, released on Steam on March 27, 2025. It rebuilds the 1999 PlayStation classic with higher-resolution versions of its hand-painted watercolor art and a completely rebuilt interface. The story follows two protagonists born in the same era: Gustave, heir to a royal line who is drawn into war between nations, and Wil, a digger who confronts a calamity threatening the world of Sandail.
The History Choice system lets you pick which events to play, so you experience the world's history in fragments and through many characters. Battles use the glimmer and combo mechanics the SaGa series is known for, plus one-on-one duels. The remaster adds new story events, newly playable characters, Parameter Inheritance for passing stats between characters, enhanced bosses and digger expeditions that bring back items.
