Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse is a point-and-click adventure remastered by Skunkape Games and released on Steam on August 14, 2024. It updates Telltale's 2010 episodic season, the last part of the episodic Sam & Max trilogy, with improved lighting, lip-sync, cinematography and music.
The story starts when Max finds a mysterious toy that lets him glimpse the future. Soon villains from across the galaxy come after the Toys of Power and the Devil's Toybox, and Max's psychic abilities start spinning out of control. Gameplay centers on exploring odd locations, talking to eccentric characters and solving puzzles. You can jump into Max's mind and use the Toys of Power to see the future, teleport and read minds. A built-in hint system detects when you are stuck and nudges you forward, so a walkthrough is rarely needed.
