Saros is a third-person action roguelite developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It launched on April 30, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5, after an earlier March 20 date was moved. Housemarque is the Finnish studio behind Returnal, and Saros builds on that game's fast third-person combat.
You play as Arjun Devraj, an Echelon IV enforcer played by Rahul Kohli, who arrives on Carcosa to investigate a lost Soltari mining colony. The planet is hostile and shape-shifting, and its layout changes each time Arjun dies, so every run plays differently.
Combat mixes bullet-hell patterns with third-person shooting. At the start of each run you pick a loadout of Soltari and Carcosan weapons. The Soltari Shield absorbs incoming projectiles, and that energy charges a Carcosan Power Weapon you can fire back at enemies. Eclipses darken the world and make wildlife stronger and more aggressive.
Unlike many roguelites, Saros lets you keep permanent upgrades to your suit and abilities between runs, and a Second Chance ability can bring Arjun back after his first death. Soltari Holograms scattered across Carcosa reveal the story of the colony and the planet.
Saros is a single-player game. It suits PS5 owners who enjoyed Returnal and want challenging, pattern-heavy combat with steady long-term progression.
Activation: Digital codes redeem on a PlayStation Network account and download to PlayStation 5.
Region: PSN codes are region-locked, so match the code to your account country.
Online: No PlayStation Plus membership is needed, as Saros has no online multiplayer.
