Scars Above is a third-person action adventure shooter developed by Serbian studio Mad Head Games and published by Prime Matter. It launched on February 28, 2023 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The story starts when a massive alien structure, nicknamed the Metahedron, appears in Earth's orbit. A team of scientists and engineers called SCAR goes to investigate, and the structure pulls them across space to an unknown planet.
You play Dr. Kate Ward, a SCAR member who wakes up alone. She is a scientist, not a soldier, so combat depends on preparation: you manage stamina, dodge, hit weak points and combine elemental attacks such as fire, electricity and cold to break enemies and obstacles. Between fights you scan artifacts, materials and creatures to unlock knowledge that improves Kate's gear and skills. The journey moves through marshlands, frozen wastes, caverns and alien facilities.
Scars Above suits players who like challenging, Souls-inspired encounters in a single-player sci-fi story. A Scars Above CD key unlocks the full game on Steam; see the official Steam page for current details.
