Serious Sam: Shatterverse is a cooperative roguelite first-person shooter developed by Behaviour Interactive, the studio behind Dead by Daylight, and published by Devolver Digital. It was released on August 31, 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The setup is new for the series: Uber Mental has broken the walls between realities, and Serious Sams from different universes must work together to repair the Shatterverse. You join the Serious Program and travel across shifting worlds to finish fights that other Sams lost.
Each run sends your team through arena battles against Mental's hordes. Along the way you collect boons that stack into powerful builds and choose run modifiers that change the rules. Progress is tied to defeating Mental's five lieutenants, each a large boss fight. Death ends the run, but what you learn and unlock carries into the next attempt.
The arsenal mixes classic Serious Sam weapons with new additions designed for crowds of hundreds of enemies. You can play solo or in online co-op with up to five players, and Steam lists cross-platform multiplayer support.
Shatterverse suits fans of fast arena shooters who enjoy replayable runs, build experimentation, and chaotic co-op sessions with friends rather than a linear campaign.
