Spelldrifter is a single-player tactical RPG with deckbuilding, developed by Free Range Games with Protopixel and published by Free Range Games. It launched on PC through Steam on February 15, 2022. The game takes the positional puzzles of a turn-based tactics battle and pairs them with the deck customization and replay value of a collectible card game.
Its core idea is the Tick System. Instead of trading full turns, every character action is placed on one shared timeline, and stronger cards cost more time before that hero can act again. Winning means managing two resources at once: where your heroes stand on the battlefield and when they act. Some cards are windups that hit later in exchange for more damage, which rewards planning several moves ahead.
You build a party of heroes and head into Starfall in search of the entrance to the mysterious Labyrinth. Each character has a backstory and a unique card set, including the Twice-Born warrior Korghan, the street fighter Faydin, the divine Lavella the Star-Touched and the Embermage Renna. It suits players who like card battlers and grid tactics but want both in one system. A Spelldrifter CD key from a trusted seller is a low-cost way to try it.
