Squad 44 is a multiplayer World War II first-person shooter that launched on Steam on August 9, 2018 under the name Post Scriptum. Originally created by Periscope Games, it is now developed and published by Offworld Industries, the studio behind Squad. The game recreates real campaigns such as the Battle of Normandy and the liberation of the Netherlands across 20 large battlefields, with more than 150 period weapons and over 120 vehicles.
Teamwork drives every match. One player can take the commander role and call in gun runs or artillery, while others fill infantry roles, run logistics or build fortifications and emplacements. Armor plays a major part: tank crews split into driver, gunner and commander positions. Built-in voice chat covers both squad channels and local proximity chat, so coordination happens in the game rather than in a separate app. Factions include the British 1st Airborne Division, the US 4th Infantry Division and the French Army against the German Wehrmacht and Fallschirmjäger, along with Australian, Greek, New Zealand and Polish forces.
It is built for players who want slower, more deliberate WW2 combat, similar to Hell Let Loose. A Squad 44 CD key activates the game on Steam; older Post Scriptum keys redeem to the same product. See the official Squad 44 website for patch notes.
