Stoneshard is a turn-based open-world RPG developed by Ink Stains Games and published by HypeTrain Digital. It entered Steam Early Access on February 6, 2020 and continues to receive updates on Windows and Linux. You play a mercenary in Aldor, a kingdom scarred by war, where villages lie in ruins and dungeons are full of monsters, brigands, cults and the undead.
The game offers no hand-holding. You take contracts, trade, hunt for treasure and manage a caravan that serves as your traveling base, with upgrades and recruitable followers. Character growth has no class or level limits: you mix more than 200 abilities and 400 equipment pieces into your own build. Combat is tactical and turn-based, and saves are only possible at certain spots, so a careless move can cost you progress.
Survival systems go deep. You cauterize bleeding, numb pain with alcohol, treat illness and watch your character's morale and sanity, which can trigger panic or paranoia. An Ironman mode adds permadeath. A Stoneshard CD key suits players who enjoy punishing, systems-heavy RPGs in the vein of Kenshi. Visit the official Stoneshard website for development news.
