Team Sonic Racing is an arcade racing game developed by Sumo Digital and published by SEGA. It launched on May 21, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Unlike most kart racers, it focuses on teams of three: you win or lose together, so helping teammates matters as much as finishing first.
Teammates can share power-ups, give each other speed boosts and fill a shared meter that triggers the Team Ultimate. The roster includes 15 characters from across the Sonic universe, split into Speed, Technique and Power types. There are 14 Wisp items for attack and defense, plus performance and visual customization for every vehicle. Modes include Team Adventure (a story mode that teaches the systems), Grand Prix, Exhibition and Time Trial, with online races for up to 12 players and four-player split screen.
