The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is a DLC expansion for the roguelike shooter The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth. It was developed by Nicalis and Edmund McMillen, published by Nicalis, and released on Steam for PC on March 31, 2021.
Repentance keeps the familiar loop of Rebirth. You guide Isaac through randomly generated basement floors, clear rooms of monsters with tears, collect items that combine in unexpected ways, and fight a boss at the end of each floor. Every run is different, and death sends you back to the start.
The expansion adds a full alternate path with new chapters, a new final boss, and a new ending. It also brings more than 130 new items, over 100 new enemies, more than 25 new bosses, two new playable characters, five new challenges, and over 5,000 new room designs. Nicalis describes it as the last big content update for the game.
The game supports local co-op on a shared screen, so friends can join a run from the same PC. A later update called Repentance+ added online co-op as a separate item on Steam.
Repentance suits players who already enjoy Rebirth and want much more to unlock, as well as roguelike fans who like dense item systems and tough, replayable runs.
