The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is a point-and-click adventure game developed by German studio KING Art, the team behind The Critter Chronicles and The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief. It released on Steam on February 19, 2015, for Windows, macOS and Linux, is published by THQ Nordic and holds a Metacritic score of 80. The game was funded with help from Kickstarter backers.
The story picks up a few years after the defeat of the arch-witch Mortroga. The gnome Wilbur now teaches at the School for Wizardry and Witchcraft, the elf princess Ivo is stuck in her overprotective mother's elf kingdom, and the adventurer Nate and his companion Critter are prisoners of the Red Pirate. Meanwhile a strange pink magic is turning beasts into plush toys and castles into dollhouses across Aventasia. You switch between all four characters, combine items and solve hundreds of puzzles over more than 20 hours of play. The writing parodies Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Discworld, Game of Thrones and more.
