The Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav is a point-and-click adventure developed and published by German studio Daedalic Entertainment. It released on Steam on June 22, 2012 for Windows, macOS, and Linux, and holds a Metacritic score of 75. The story draws on The Dark Eye, one of Europe's best-known pen-and-paper role-playing brands, and was written with authors from that tabletop game.
You play Geron, a young bird catcher in the superstitious kingdom of Andergast. King Efferdan is preparing for peace talks with rival Nostria, but aggressive crows that bring nightmares are attacking the city. Geron takes the job of catching them, hoping to shake off his reputation for bad luck, and ends up on a journey to the edges of Aventuria and beyond. Gameplay follows classic adventure design: explore hand-painted scenes, collect and combine items, talk to characters, and solve inventory and environmental puzzles.
It suits fans of story-heavy adventures with full voice acting and a fantasy setting. If you like Daedalic's other work, the studio also made the Deponia series.
