The Karters 2: Turbo Charged is a kart racing game developed and published by Pixel Edge Games, a small indie studio from Poland. It entered Early Access on Steam for Windows PC on July 17, 2025.
Races mix casual chaos with deeper mechanics for competitive players, inspired by Crash Team Racing but with its own identity. The game includes 16 official race tracks and 6 battle arenas.
There are seven game modes, including Race, Time Trial, Duo-Time Trial, Battle, Elimination, Road Breaker and Quick Cut. Cups can run up to 24 rounds, and Team vs Team works both online and locally.
Multiplayer is a major focus. Split-screen supports up to six players, including split-screen online, and online play uses dedicated servers with ranked matchmaking, leaderboards, monthly ELO rankings and tournaments. Ghost races let you download and share ghost data.
The developer highlights support for both Steam and Steam Deck, and the game offers full controller support, Remote Play Together and Steam Cloud saves. Text is available in 17 languages, with full audio in English. Global leaderboards and all-time ELO rankings give competitive players long-term goals, while casual players can stick to relaxed local split-screen sessions.
Full Steam Workshop support and an in-game mod browser give access to community tracks and characters. There is also a single-player campaign, so it suits both solo racers and groups of friends.
