The Rogue Prince of Persia is a 2D action roguelite developed by Evil Empire, the Bordeaux studio known for its long-running work on Dead Cells, and published by Ubisoft. The full 1.0 version launched on August 20, 2025, following an early access period on PC. The Prince's fatal mistake has doomed his people, but death spares him: each time he falls, he returns to try again and change the kingdom's fate.
Every run starts from the same premise but plays out differently. Procedurally generated levels, random events, narrative progress and difficulty modifiers keep each attempt fresh, while metaprogression carries knowledge and unlocks forward. Movement is the core of the game. You wall-run, vault over enemies, dodge traps and chain acrobatic combos, with a soundtrack that drives the pace. More than 100 weapons and medallions let you build a loadout around your playstyle, then upgrade it as the run goes on.
Fans of tight action roguelites and of Ubisoft's recent 2D revival of the series, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, will find a lot to like here. Picking up a cheap The Rogue Prince of Persia CD key gets you the complete release with all content added since early access.
