Toki is a remake of the 1989 arcade action platformer, developed and published by Microids. It first released on Nintendo Switch on December 4, 2018, then arrived on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in June 2019. The Steam version also runs on macOS.

The story follows Toki, a jungle warrior who is turned into an ape by the sorcerer Vookimedlo and the demon Bashtar after they kidnap his partner Miho. You battle through six areas: the Labyrinth, Neptune Lake, the Cave of Fire, the Ice Palace, the Jungle of Darkness and the Golden Palace.

Gameplay stays close to the arcade original. Toki walks, jumps, swims and climbs, and attacks by spitting projectiles at enemies. Power-ups change his shot, and each area ends with a boss fight against one of Vookimedlo's lackeys, creatures with names like Boloragog and Mogulvar. Learning enemy patterns and saving your power-ups for the hardest sections is key to survival.

The remake replaces the pixel art with new hand-drawn graphics and re-orchestrated music. It keeps the tough arcade difficulty and a high-score table, while a new easier mode helps newcomers. Microids also announced a speedrun mode, retro screen filters and a jukebox as added content.

Toki is single-player. It suits retro fans and players who like short, challenging action platformers.
