Total War: ROME II - Wrath of Sparta is a campaign pack DLC for Total War: ROME II, developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA on December 16, 2014, with the Mac version from Feral Interactive. It adds a standalone campaign set in the Hellenic world during the Peloponnesian Wars. You need Total War: ROME II (Emperor Edition on Steam) to play it.
The campaign opens in 432 BC. At a gathering of the Peloponnesian League, wealthy Athens has made enemies of Sparta, Corinth and the Boiotian League, and the balance of power in Greece breaks down while the Persian Empire waits to exploit the chaos. The map is the earliest period any Total War game had depicted at release, covering 22 provinces across 78 regions on the Greek mainland, the islands and the Ionian coast, with 12 new Wonders such as the Ruins of Troy and the Temple of Zeus. Because the timeframe is tighter than ROME II's Grand Campaign, each turn represents one month. Athens, Corinth, Sparta and Boiotia are playable, each with its own traits, unit roster and starting position, and historical figures such as the Spartan general Lysander appear along the way. A Total War: ROME II - Wrath of Sparta CD key is a low-cost way to add a focused Greek campaign to ROME II.
Fans of the setting can also revisit the original Rome: Total War. Details are on the official ROME II website.
