Wanted: Dead is a third-person slasher-shooter developed by Soleil Ltd., a Japanese studio with veterans of Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive. It launched on February 14, 2023, on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. You play Lt. Hannah Stone, leader of an elite Hong Kong police squad called the Zombie Unit, as she pulls apart a corporate conspiracy in a dystopian city that mixes high-tech hardware with '90s retro-futurism.
Combat is the core. You chain katana strikes into gunfire from assault rifles, SMGs, LMGs and grenade launchers, parry attacks, dismember enemies and close fights with more than 50 execution moves. A bullet-time mechanic slows the action so you can punish groups of enemies. The fights are demanding by design, which will appeal to players who enjoyed the challenge of games like the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection.
Between missions, the linear campaign swerves into odd side content, including a ramen-eating minigame, karaoke and an arcade cabinet. The game embraces a rough, PS2-era style rather than AAA polish. A Wanted: Dead CD key is a cheap way to try this cult action game.
Trailers and news are on the official Wanted: Dead website.
