Paranoid is a psychological horror game developed by Polish studio Madmind Studio, which previously made Agony, and co-published with PlayWay. It released on Steam on December 15, 2023. The story follows Patrick Calman, a 31-year-old man who lost his parents in brutal circumstances and whose sister vanished more than ten years ago. Living in isolation and struggling with paranoid schizophrenia, Patrick gets a phone call from a voice that sounds like his sister, announcing she is coming back.
That call forces a choice: stay home without medication and dig into the dark secret of a neighbor who haunts his dreams, or buy the medicine and go meet his sister. The game splits into two narrative paths and keeps you guessing about what is real. Gameplay mixes exploration and puzzles with dynamic, brutal combat using melee weapons and firearms, plus executions that use weapons and the environment. The late-1980s setting uses realistic locations filled with hostile creatures.
Paranoid is for players who like mature, gory horror with a strong story hook. A Paranoid CD key for Steam is the cheapest way to start Patrick's descent.
Studio updates are on the Madmind Studio website.
