Unexplored 2: The Wayfarer's Legacy is a procedurally generated open-world adventure RPG developed and published by Dutch studio Ludomotion, the team behind the original roguelike dungeon crawler Unexplored. It released on Steam on May 27, 2022. Each new world is generated with its own landscapes, peoples, ruins and layered history of politics, magic and legend.
The game breaks from standard RPG progression. There is no XP, no gold and no grind; your choices and their consequences drive progress instead. From the Temple in Haven you pick a wayfarer, choose a quest and prepare supplies before setting out. Journeys cross varied terrain, introduce characters you can recruit, and slowly bring you closer to the final goal: carrying the Staff of Yendor to the Prime Elemental Forge in the First Valley and destroying it. Wayfarers can die and not return, so you manage a roster and pick quests that match each one's skills and resources. If the final attempt fails, that world is lost for good.
The pace is slow and strategic, which suits players who enjoy planning and discovery over action. An Unexplored 2 CD key activates on Steam, where the game supports Steam Cloud and offers a large set of difficulty modifiers for replays.
