Millennia is a historical turn-based 4X strategy game developed by C Prompt Games and published by Paradox Interactive. It launched on PC on March 26, 2024. You found a nation at the dawn of civilization and guide it across roughly 10,000 years of history, from the first cities to space travel, through ten distinct ages.
Its signature system is the age structure. Every game moves through a timeline that you can bend: meet certain objectives and the world enters a Variant Age, an alternate history with new rules, technologies and units, such as the Age of Aether or the Age of Utopia. Fall into chaos and you may trigger a Crisis Age of war, sickness or ignorance. Near the end, a Victory Age decides how the game concludes. Between those turning points you customize your people with National Spirits, research scientific and cultural advances, and run a production economy that converts raw goods into higher-value products, such as iron into weapons or tools and wood into paper or lumber. Regions can specialize, and you ship surplus goods where they are needed.
If you enjoy Civilization 7 but want more alternate-history twists, a Millennia CD key is worth comparing. The official Millennia page lists expansions and updates.
